JET 2004 Career Presentation Updated to Refllect the New Post-AI Normal
I made this presentation for the JET Programme back in 2004. It was directed at JET personnel who were soon to end their time in the program and might be considering career options that use their Japanese-language ability.
A lot has transpired in the world of Japanese-to-English translation since then. While this presentation was not as arguably prescient as the one I gave in 2019 in Cairns, a surprising portion of the presentation remains relevant. I have revised the content to bring it up to date and have clearly indicated the changes and additions.
